Happy 1st Birthday Hunter!!!

Happy Birthday Hunter Matthew! One year ago
you entered our lives and have blessed us in every possible way! Here's to one year and many more birthdays to come!!!
Hunter: June 10Th 2010

Today we met with friends and family and Hogle Zoo to celebrate this fun milestone, although he didn't really understand what was going on he enjoyed being around kids, food and animals. We met at 1pm and had a pizza party and finished off the meal with home made cupcakes that Alli slaved over the night before. Thanks to everyone who took the time to celebrate with us and for the wonderful gifts that Hunter has enjoyed!
Making new friends!!!

For some reason Hunter started getting scared while we sang,
I don't think we sound that bad...

Hunter and Mommy in St. George

Hunter and Mom left this week for a St. George vacation before classes began for Ali. I had to stay behind for work and a few classes that began in May that I couldn't miss. They must have had a lot of fun because I hardly heard from them. It sounds like they had a nice relaxing time before the reality of work and school sank back in. Here are some photos of their trip...

Hungy Hungry Hunter

As Hunter wants to be more independent he's become determined to do things by himself. Whether it's climbing onto the couch or placing his toys in containers just right he has very little patience when things don't work. Lately his new thing has been eating with utensils which he's quite good at in such a short time. Whenever we fed him in the past we would always let him hold a baby spoon or fork. Until one day something clicked and he started feeding himself, it's great he's growing and learning but at times it's a bummer knowing he'll continue to grow up.

New Band Member!

Hunter has been developing more each day and becoming too cute for words. Here's a new skill he picked up this morning! He can now play the Triangle, wood blocks, maracas and cymbols! Here's a fun clip of our little percusionist following in the footsteps of his mom.

Hunters first word!

This Post was suppose to go up one month ago, but it's too cute to bury it under other older posts.

Despite Hunters constant jabbering a unknown language He finally blurted out his first word! For the past few days it's both rare and exciting to hear him say Dadda! Here's a video of him making me work for him to say the most exciting thing I've heard from this cute little boy! Next we'll work on Mamma.

What I love about this video is at the end where he throws his arms up and gives this face of fine I'll say it, as though he was humoring me with my numerous requests.

Baby Buttons Boutique

I've spoken in the past about Allisons small business on Ebay. She makes the cutest ties for newborns to infants available in many colors and designs. On Thursday Ali took Hunter outside for a photo shoot for her ties. I think Hunter made a very cute model... I think he was definitely channeling Derrick Zoolander with his Blue Steel face. Here's some of those photos and a recommendation to check out Al's store front on Ebay. These ties are affordable and make great simple gifts for family and friends.

Easter Sunday

Today we've had a blast celebrating Easter with Hunter even though like all holidays he has no clue what's going on around him. The one thing he probably recognizes is the amount of attention he gets on days like this... every Sunday for that matter. Since he's not able to eat all the Easter goodies Ali and I took it upon ourselves to enjoy all the sugar covered garbage one might expect the Easter Bunny might bring.

Lost Pictures!

One of my biggest regrets this past year was the lack of photos that were taken the day Hunter entered our little family. Yes I had my video camera rolling constantly but we completely dropped the ball in the photo department. About a month ago Ali's best friend and Hunters favorite Aunt posted pictures on Facebook of one of the greatest days we've had. It's great to see this little newborn baby and how similar he looks today. Such a cute little guy!

Ever since we've had cameras pointed and ready, we may be going overboard with taking photos but at least we'll never miss a milestone or moment with Hunter! We hope you enjoy seeing some of his super rad adventures to come! We love you Hunter!

New Pajamas

My brother in law is leaving December 27Th to perform missionary work in Alaska. This past fall my parents were nice enough to pick up this sweet pair of long johns during their cruise in Alaska... Little did we know Uncle Jordan would receive a mission call a few months later to our friends in the north. As you can see Hunter is quite the little stud muffin! A cute outfit all the way up from where uncle Jordan will be serving a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! Hunter is already showing his support by wearing this cute little outfit! This holiday our little family is truly grateful for a wonderful example who is setting an awesome example for our son! We love you Jordan!

Cereal Time

Hunter has started eating cereal! It started when we felt guilty eating around our little guy... The look on his face would make you begin offering him what's on your plate. The other night Ali broke out some rice cereal and he had a tough time with it. Although most of the food ended up on his clothes, hair and face it was still a cute and entertaining learning experience. Thanks uncle Jordan for visiting us and helping feed our chubby little kid!
Not quite sure what he thinks about cereal

Happy Six Months Hunter!

Oh my, I can't believe how much my son has changed! Today Hunter is Six months old and it boggles the mind how big he's getting. He finally has grown into his cute nose but his cheeks have kept getting bigger! He's been busy jabbering with mom and dad as his two bottom teeth have appeared, his little grin kills me and it's extremely tough to get a picture of his teeth. Needless to say Hunter has grown into quite the little character. Before we know it, summer will be here and we'll have new adventures of a walking child. Happy Six Month Birthday Hunter!!!

Halloween!

The past few days we've been celebrating Hunters first Halloween! A year ago I received the most wonderful yet scary news that I was going to be a dad. Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays and now get to share this fun month with Hunter!

Friday night we had friends over for a party where we showed off Hunters super awesome get up! We enjoyed a potluck dinner and played games including the famous Candy Bar game my family plays each year during Christmas, surprisingly the hot item was a box of charles & chews and not the exciting ball n' a cup. After food, games and visiting with our guests we closed the evening with the best worst movie... Troll 2. I recently got the movie on blu ray and wanted to continue sharing this classic B-movie to the world, one person at a time! We were happy with the turn out and decided we need to entertain more often. Seeing that it'll only get more difficult to round up all our favorite people.
For Hunters first Halloween we dressed him up as a hot dog, while Ali and myself were Ketchup and Mustard!

Unfortunately I had to work Saturday night but I was happy knowing Ali and Hunter were having fun with our friends trick or treating and such. Our Sunday was pretty uneventful but we had more than enough candy and Halloween celebration for the year. We look forward the holidays to come and the experiences we share with our growing little boy! Happy Halloween everyone!!!

Family Pictures

Thanks to my sister Nikki we were able to meet up Wednesday morning to get some family pictures taken! She sent a handful to me this morning and I think they turned out great! The only difficulty was trying to get Hunter's attention away from everything besides the camera.
