New Pajamas

My brother in law is leaving December 27Th to perform missionary work in Alaska. This past fall my parents were nice enough to pick up this sweet pair of long johns during their cruise in Alaska... Little did we know Uncle Jordan would receive a mission call a few months later to our friends in the north. As you can see Hunter is quite the little stud muffin! A cute outfit all the way up from where uncle Jordan will be serving a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! Hunter is already showing his support by wearing this cute little outfit! This holiday our little family is truly grateful for a wonderful example who is setting an awesome example for our son! We love you Jordan!

Cereal Time

Hunter has started eating cereal! It started when we felt guilty eating around our little guy... The look on his face would make you begin offering him what's on your plate. The other night Ali broke out some rice cereal and he had a tough time with it. Although most of the food ended up on his clothes, hair and face it was still a cute and entertaining learning experience. Thanks uncle Jordan for visiting us and helping feed our chubby little kid!
Not quite sure what he thinks about cereal

Happy Six Months Hunter!

Oh my, I can't believe how much my son has changed! Today Hunter is Six months old and it boggles the mind how big he's getting. He finally has grown into his cute nose but his cheeks have kept getting bigger! He's been busy jabbering with mom and dad as his two bottom teeth have appeared, his little grin kills me and it's extremely tough to get a picture of his teeth. Needless to say Hunter has grown into quite the little character. Before we know it, summer will be here and we'll have new adventures of a walking child. Happy Six Month Birthday Hunter!!!

Halloween!

The past few days we've been celebrating Hunters first Halloween! A year ago I received the most wonderful yet scary news that I was going to be a dad. Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays and now get to share this fun month with Hunter!

Friday night we had friends over for a party where we showed off Hunters super awesome get up! We enjoyed a potluck dinner and played games including the famous Candy Bar game my family plays each year during Christmas, surprisingly the hot item was a box of charles & chews and not the exciting ball n' a cup. After food, games and visiting with our guests we closed the evening with the best worst movie... Troll 2. I recently got the movie on blu ray and wanted to continue sharing this classic B-movie to the world, one person at a time! We were happy with the turn out and decided we need to entertain more often. Seeing that it'll only get more difficult to round up all our favorite people.
For Hunters first Halloween we dressed him up as a hot dog, while Ali and myself were Ketchup and Mustard!

Unfortunately I had to work Saturday night but I was happy knowing Ali and Hunter were having fun with our friends trick or treating and such. Our Sunday was pretty uneventful but we had more than enough candy and Halloween celebration for the year. We look forward the holidays to come and the experiences we share with our growing little boy! Happy Halloween everyone!!!

Family Pictures

Thanks to my sister Nikki we were able to meet up Wednesday morning to get some family pictures taken! She sent a handful to me this morning and I think they turned out great! The only difficulty was trying to get Hunter's attention away from everything besides the camera.

Never have I experienced time passing so quickly in my life, but these past three months have been wonderfully fulfilling. Hunter has been full of smiles and unknown ramblings that leaves us wanting more and I can't imagine life without him or Allison. Today Hunter Matthew is three months and I can't wait to see how much he grows in another three months! We love you Hunter!

Hunters first vacation!

We recently returned from our vacation in St. George, which was Hunters first outing from home! We left early Wednesday morning and made constant stops because Hunter couldn't last too long in his car seat. We stopped in Payson so Hunter could visit his great grandpa Twede, it was very heart warming seeing these two great guys together.

While unpacking Hunter enjoyed watching the ceiling fan, this video shows his excitement.

We didn't do too much down there because I wanted to treat Allison to a very relaxing getaway. While I spent time watching our little guy I sent Ali to enjoy a day at the spa with a relaxing massage, I enjoyed time with my son while Ali got a little break from taking care of us.

Hunter being sweet every morning he wakes up!

Perhaps one of the greatest moments was having hunter sleep nine hours straight! A miracle considering how much our little guy eats! We must have worn him out with all our shopping. Hunter takes after his dad and needs a very dark room to sleep in, but since every room in St. George is booming with light we set up his bed in the laundry room hallway which he slept in better than at home.

We took Hunter swimming for the first time which proved challenging before we got to the pool. With all our searching we couldn't find swimming diapers that fit correctly which would explain the over sized one he sported at the pool.

He always enjoys time in the tub but being in a large pool he seemed a bit apprehensive about the situation. Not knowing what to do or expect Hunter was indifferent with this entire situation.

I would guess we spent less than ten minutes before he became too cold and had an meltdown, afterwords we returned home and warmed him up in a tub that was more to his liking.

I love this picture because it shows my two favorite people in the world happy and having a good time. I hope we can find time soon to get away from life once again.

Video of Chatty Hunter!

Today we took Hunter in for his two month check up and lucky for us he's a very healthy strong boy! While we were waiting for our doctor to arrive Hunter was being very entertaining so I snagged some video of him talking and smiling. Everyday we see more of a personality shine behind his cute eyes and smile!

This video is a little long and maybe I'm biased but I think it's very cute!

Blessing Day

Today we had Hunters baby blessing along with a nice luncheon with family and friends! Everything went well besides the fact Hunter struggled to be happy in his cute little outfit. We had a lot of fun and we look forward to seeing Hunter grow up!

Welcome baby Hunter!!!

Hunter Matthew was born 6-10-10 at 9:14pm weighing 7 pounds 5 ounces and nineteen & a half inches long. We went to the hospital at 7:30 am and spent the day incuding Allison with no success, we weren't sure what was going on until after a C-section revealed the cord holding up out of a position for delivery along with his head being turned to the side. A little before 9pm our mid wife called for a C-section to get him out which happened so quickly it was surreal. I didn't expect everything to happen so fast, one moment Ali was being sedated the next minute there's a baby laying on her legs. Besides marrying my beautiful wife seeing my son being born into the world has to be one of the greatest moments in my life. I felt bad because Ali was very drugged up and couldn't follow me as they cleaned the baby but both mom and the baby are happy and healthy. But I got plenty of video of him eating his hands and trying to make sense of his surroundings. We'll most likely be here in the hospital until Monday morning for some extra testing and recovery. So far so go though, Hunter is a pretty mellow child and is constantly hungry so he'll plump out I'm sure. Now that our family has grown I reckon this blog will have a lot more updates of our little boy! Thanks to everyone for the kind words and well wishes. We couldn't be happier right now.

TV Stand: aka Goliath Is Here!

Standing seven feet tall and four feet wide at a weight I can't even imagine... Our TV stand is here and bigger than we expected! When we visited the shop it looked big but having it in a much smaller space shows how massive this thing truly is. Ali's family was nice enough to move it into our home while I was at work, I came home last night at eleven and was surprised to see most of our ceiling lights being blocked by the giant. I spent the morning carefully wiring our electronics since after we placed it in the corner it will most likely stay that way until we move out. It took a long time but we slowly and carefully installed it, sadly the pictures don't really show how close the sides are to the wall... I weep for the day we have to move this thing. A big thanks to Jordan for making this awesome piece of furniture, makes me regret not taking shop in high school.

Babies Room!

We finally finished the babies room with one week left to go! Until this baby arrives we're scrambling to get everything done which can be any day now. We got the babies room situated and I hope you enjoy the pictures. Another thanks to Allison's mom Carolyn who does amazing things on the sewing machine. We'll have more pictures to put up soon of some other projects we're working on.
A wide shot of the room with the great window treatments

The room theme is elephants and giraffes which
you can see here on the blanket, the bumper
will be back on soon.

Ali made these cute frames with some of our
old hooks, also on the window is a lamp Ali worked
on to match the room
Ali and I found this play yard that goes great with
the colors we picked, it even has elephants too!

Picnic Table

Today we began work on an old picnic table Allison played on as a kid. We love workin on these projects and were excited at how much better it looks after some sanding and a fresh coat of paint. Lucky for us Allison and her sister Danielle worked hard on this after I left for work, I think it turned out well.
We are working on some last minute projects before the little one arrives. We're three weeks away from having our lives forever changed and we're very excited for it. Hopefully this table will hold up so he can one day enjoy playing outside on it.

Our future Musician!

A couple weeks ago as we were getting ready for bed I found myself once again singing to Ali's tummy trying to get our baby boy to stop kicking and moving around... which surprisingly works. Usually I sing nursery rhymes or the occasional tune from my childhood, I received a request to sing a primary song. As I busted out on I Am a Child of God our boy began rocking out which startled us because I have never seen such a visible response! We enjoy feeling those kicks on a daily basis but for a moment I felt a connection that gave me such happiness. Moments like this make me realize how excited I am, it's going to be difficult but we're up for the challenge! We're only a few weeks away from welcoming the newest cool kid on the block!

Dark Side of The Moon: 8-Bit

So I stumbled upon this recreation of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of The Moon in 8-Bit sound. Basically this is what the album would hear had it been in a old Nintendo system from your childhood. It's awesome to hear a cool concept to a great album and I hope you enjoy it.

Diaper Changing Table pt. 2

Today we finished staining and sealing our diaper changing table and were surprised how well it turner out. I was reminded how much I dislike working with staining products because you never know what where it will soak in and where it will pool up like paint. Long story short we figured everything out and got this one done and on to the next projects. We still need to add the hardware to the doors and that will be done as soon as we find one of them around the house! Also that small square hole in the top left needs a small plug for when we aren't running cords through.

We made some changes while sanding which include a darker color than planned, molding installed to the sides and front doors, adding a sheet of wood to the top. At the last minute we added new legs so we wouldn't have to change our kid on stilts. The project cost more than we originally planned but we saved more green in the long run.

Besides getting the house ready for the baby we are moving onto painting two more chairs for our table, and treating/painting patio furniture so we can enjoy being outside more with our son.
Time is moving fast so we'll continue to work hard and get ready for the boy.

Diaper Changing Table

This past week we have been working on a diaper changing table for our little boy. Allison's dad made this chest back in Junior High and was used at their office over the years. I spent Monday morning sanding the old finish down so we can make it match the crib and chair. Once again I was skeptical of what Ali was expecting to make out of this but once again I was happy to be proven wrong. With the help from Jordan our master carpenter we now have a great piece that we plan on keeping for a long time. I wanted to post some pictures now and we'll later post once this thing is completed.

The first picture is the only one with the doors that Ali is adding some molding to add a little something something.

My Babies Mama!

So my Babies Mama is so cute and continues to glow each day I decided to share a cute photo that shows off my wife's cute baby bump! Counting down the time until we have a little Mato Potato to the family! This will be the first grandson on my side in five years, also being the first grandchild on Allison's side!
