I'm Sick

So once again I've caught another sinus infection... of course having such messed up sinuses it's not that surprising. Sometimes I wish that I could be like Mr. Potato Head and have the ability to take my ears, nose off whenever I'm feeling the all too familiar sinus pressure... Just imagine what that would be like... Probably look just as pretty as this guy right here.

So I went to the instacare only to be told that I needed to by a ridiculous amount of meds to drain the fluid in my ears, nose and oddly enough from my eyes... how does that work. Here's hoping I don't die.

Yo! Check out our Crib!

So Ali and myself spent most of our evening putting together our new crib that we've been waiting twelve weeks to get here... FYI don't shop at the Cuddle Haven in Kaysville, very unpleasant experience. The whole thing took several hours due to horrible instructions or what I call destructions. Despite having two pages of vague half baked instructions we were able to finish it and I think the end result was worth the frustration.
Putting our nursery together was a bit more challenging than expected but also made us a little more excited for our little man to get here. Right now we're still trying to decide on a name we both can agree on... easier said than done. Lately the names we're thinking about are Hunter Matthew Norman, William Jackson Norman (I know it's long but it's a family name.) I've been liking the name Timothy a lot lately and would love to use that as Timothy Thomas Norman, in honor of one of the greatest scout leaders this world has ever seen. At least we have several months to decide.

Ali's latest and finished project, she's so creative!

The Reign of Kindo (new song)

One of my favorite bands put out an unreleased song, thought I'd share the wealth! Not the greatest sound quality but considering it's live shows how talented they are.

We're expecting....

A BOY! We're very excited and can't believe that it's actually happening! We went to the doctors on Wed and spent quite a bit of time to get a good look at the baby which took much longer than expected, it looks like our child will be a snuggler since he's constantly rolled up. Ali decided she wanted to switch to a Midwife because our doctor was a bit of a head case, I was a little apprehensive but after meeting her I feel that the right decision was made. She made a great impression and was nice enough to spend extra time with us since we've desperately been waiting to find out for sure what we're having. I'm very excited to have a little boy because our good friends Seth and Keri are having a little boy a month before us, so our boys automatically have best friends. We have some other friends that are expecting around the same time and we wish them and everyone the best.
(not an actual picture of ourselves... but still funny)

This will be my parents 16th grandchild (I'm the youngest of six kids) and this is the first human grandchild for Allison's family (Ali's sister has two cute dogs they count as grand kids). Everything is going great right now, a few aches and pains and a battle to agree on a name. I've been very nervous the past few months but I'm also excited to be a dad. I was very lucky to have been given such a great family, I may not have shown the respect and love they deserved but I hope that I can help my child understand and enjoy the blessing of a human. We'll keep you posted and share pictures of our babies room which is currently a work in progress.

Christmas!

The holidays are passing us too quickly, I can't believe we celebrated Christmas already. We were busy on Christmas Eve where my sister Emily had the whole family over. It's always fun to see everyone on my side because as the family grows the more difficult it is to get together. We could only stay for dinner and missed out on the tradition of the candy bar game but the short time was a lot of fun. Later that night we joined the Frank family at Olive Garden and later returned back home to open our christmas ornament gift. Each year we get an ornament that symbolizes something about our life that year. Ali gave me a little Washer that spins little clothes inside because I Matthew have done well over 95% of the laundry since we moved to Kaysville.

Unfortunately I had to work Christmas morning but Ali's family was nice enough to wake up bright and early so I could enjoy opening presents with them. We woke up at 6am which brought back memories of getting up before the sun did to see what was under the tree. This year I didn't help Allison out too much with gift ideas for myself because all I could think of were wants and not needs. I was very impressed that she remembered things I mentioned who knows how long ago.

Ali gave me a GPS for my car so we wont get lost anymore... (I have no sense of direction). I received an Ogden is Awesome t-shirt that I thought was amazing. I was given a computer program which turns my laptop into a journal that I can link to this blog which will provide more updates. I was very excited for that because for years I've talked about how it would be easier to type a journal than to put the pen to the paper. A few small items including a copy of The Three Amigos DVD (a family favorite) and a electronic game called Catchphrase. I even got a snuggie which made me realize how rich someone is getting off of one of the dumbest ideas.

Allison got a whole bunch of things, some of the highlights include a Paul Frank Diaper bag, childrens books, and a Cuisine Art Ice Cream Maker. We spoiled each other quite a bit this year but a lot of it was things for our future family and child. It was a great Christmas and sadly it's come and gone, here's hoping this is the beginning of a new and great year ahead of us.

Our family was very generous this year! we received a couple of date night gift certificates, some baby stuff for the future rug rat. Allison was very excited to get a new phone instead of using hand me downs.... Ali's parents even gave me a Panini Maker (hopefully we'll cut down the amount we go to Zuppa's).
